(1) What data we collect

When you use AREU, we may collect the following types of information:

• Account information — your name and email address when you register.
• Location data — your device's location, if you grant permission (used to suggest nearby places and improve trip planning).
• Usage data — how you interact with the app, such as features used and session duration.
• Device information — device type, operating system, and app version.

(2) Why we collect it

We use the information we collect to provide and improve AREU, personalise your experience, send important service-related notifications, and offer customer support. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

(3) Location data

AREU requests access to your location to help you discover places and plan trips with friends. You can choose to allow location access only while using the app, or in the background for continuous features. You can change your location preferences at any time in your device settings. We do not share your precise location with other users without your explicit consent.

(4) Third-party services

AREU uses Firebase, a platform provided by Google LLC, for authentication, data storage, and analytics. Firebase may collect certain data as part of its operation. We encourage you to review Google's Privacy Policy for more information.

(4a) Cookies & website analytics

The areu.io website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors discover and use the site. Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them through the cookie banner shown on your first visit. If you reject, no analytics or marketing cookies are stored and only aggregate, anonymous pings may be sent. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your site data or contacting us. We use Google Consent Mode v2 and do not run advertising cookies by default.

(5) In-app purchases

AREU offers optional premium features available through in-app purchase. All transactions are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). AREU does not store your payment card details. Please refer to Apple's or Google's policies for information about how they handle purchase data.

(6) Children's privacy

AREU is designed to be safe for users of all ages, including children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what is necessary to provide the service. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

(7) Your rights & data deletion

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To request data deletion or ask any questions about your data, please contact us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days. Upon account deletion, your personal data is removed from our systems within 90 days.
